Gordon grew up on an Iowa farm, received a BS in Ag. Econ. from Iowa State University and later an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University. He joined Cargill, Inc. in Minneapolis, MN and retired in 1999 as a Vice-President after 36 years of service and moved to Apalachicola.
Gordon is married to Sandra Adkins and they jointly have 5 children--Jason, an artist in California (see links here for his website and work), Misty who lives in Minnesota, Mike who lives in Minnesota and works as a professional welder, Erika who recently graduated from the University of Memphis with a BSc degree in Business and Jessicagrace who will be entering high school in the fall.
Some of Gordon's interests include singing, fishing, castnetting, bread baking, pig roasting, and traveling with Sandra. While with Cargill, Inc. he traveled extensively both domestically and internationally. He has had past interests in the 4-H organization and IFYE as well, having spent time living in India. He continues to maintain an interest in Iowa farmland and real estate. He also has an active Florida Mortgage Brokers license.
Gordon began buying property in the Panhandle area in 1978 and owns property on St. George Island as well as Apalachicola. He has had experience in beachfront rentals and tax free exchanges on St. George Island as well as commercial rentals and historic renovations in Apalachicola. He currently lives on St. George Island and believes in the future of the Panhandle area and its future growth and appreciation and would be glad to sit down and discuss his reasoning with you at any time.
